Interested in joining us for a class? We got you, mama. Here is everything you need to know.

Virtual Studio

Where is the Virtual Studio?

Wherever you are with an internet connection! We will be using the web-based Zoom meeting platform to offer real-time workouts and opportunities for connection. It was important to us that everyone be able to see one another’s faces and chat with each other before and after the workout as we do during live classes. You will need a computer with a web browser or a mobile device with the Zoom app. We recommend using a computer or TV screen to most easily follow along with the workout.

How do I get access to Virtual Studio classes?

  • Enroll at least 30 minutes before class time using the Pike13 app or at https://fit4mom-dc.pike13.com/schedule.

  • Prior to class, the instructor will send a note with a link to join the workout. We will use Pike 13’s email system to communicate with all enrolled clients, so this will look like the same kind of email you might have seen if a class changed locations.

  • Approximately 5 minutes before class, the instructor will open the Virtual Studio to allow time for chatting prior to the start of class.

  • Please join early to allow yourself extra time before your first class to become familiar with the Zoom platform.

    • Locate your audio/video buttons so that you can turn them on and off as requested/desired.

    • Explore different views available to you. We recommend the Gallery view when we are chatting informally and the Full Screen Active Speaker view during the workout.

    • Mute yourself during the workout otherwise you will come on the screen as speaker. You can use the chat to communicate.

What should I do with my kiddo during class?

We will engage kiddos as much as possible during Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre. You might try one or many of the following ideas at different parts of the workout if your kiddo is present:

  • Kiddo in stroller, car seat carrier, floor mat, on couch, or any special seat (maybe start this way and have other options available when they’re finished sitting)

  • “Working out” next to you on their own mat

  • Let kiddo push baby doll stroller during cardio catch-up and then exercise in front of to simulate a real class

  • Coloring Books, books, puzzles, stickers, craft, play-doh, novelties you don’t dish out often

  • Breakfast/Snacks that take a long time to eat

  • Babies may be worn if you feel you can do so safely. Using a baby carrier will allow you more mobility

  • Send them outside for a nice long walk with your partner

  • If you have a yard, let them run and play while you exercise outside and soak up the sun

What if my kiddo interrupts me?

It’s ok! Our kiddos will need to get used to this new normal, so be flexible! Calmly take a few minutes to engage with them and try something you haven’t tried yet from the above list or your own bag of tricks. You’ll be muted during the workout, so we won’t hear you, and you’re welcome to turn off your video at any time if needed. Jump back in when you can, even if it’s just for the final three deep breaths and chatter to follow.

What will I need for class?

For Every Class:

  • A safe space (make sure you're not going to trip on toys)

  • Water

  • Exercise mat or Towel

  • Resistance band, hand weights, or any equally weighted handheld objects (canned goods work great!)

  • Sweat towel

  • Background music (optional)

  • Kid entertainment (if awake)

Additional Items for Stroller Barre:

  • Core Ball (sub: balloon, kid’s ball, mini loop band, any 8”-ish lightweight handheld object)

  • Extra ball for your kiddo

  • High-back chair if needed for balance

What if my house and I are a hot mess?

We don’t care! Come 1000% as you are and with your house as it is. We have always prided ourselves in offering a judgment free community, and we don’t want our new structure to feel any differently!

Stroller Strides / Stroller Barre

What do I need to bring to class?

Plenty of water, towel or yoga mat/blanket, sunscreen (for outdoor classes), baby essentials including snacks and/or toys for your little one(s), comfortable walking/running shoes (both Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre are traveling classes), appropriate exercise attire, and any kind of stroller.

I just had a baby, when can I join Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre?

You can begin attending class with your doctor's clearance to begin exercising, typically after your six week postpartum appointment. See you there, Mama!

Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise throughout their pregnancies as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are qualified to lead our professionally designed pre/postnatal fitness programs that follow the latest American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses a challenge as you progress through your pregnancy. FIT4MOM® recommends you obtain your doctor’s approval prior to beginning Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre. If pregnant, please speak with your physician before your first day.

Exercise during pregnancy has proven beneficial and helps improve or increase the following:

  • Cardiovascular fitness

  • Muscular strength/endurance

  • Energy levels

  • Higher fatigue threshold

  • Posture and biomechanics

  • Circulation

  • Self-esteem, sense of well-being

  • Recovery time

Can I try a class before I join?

Your first Stroller Strides class is always FREE! This allows you to see first hand if Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre is a good fit for you and your little one! If you sign up here and create a profile, your first FREE class is automatically gifted to your account and you can come try us out!

How will I know if the class location has changed due to weather?

In case of inclement weather, outdoor class locations may change. Follow us on Facebook and check for updates an hour before class starts. We also send notifications to our client list via email if we have enough advance notice.

Do I need to be a runner to attend these classes?

Absolutely not! Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre is for moms of ALL fitness levels. We meet for a warm up, then power walk, jog, or run to each exercise station. You exercise at the pace you feel most comfortable.

At what age can my baby be in a jogger?

As a general guideline, when your baby can hold his/her head up, he/she can ride in a jogger. But, we suggest that you follow your own stroller manufacturer’s guidelines. You can use a head roll and bolster to make your baby even more secure. With shock absorbers and recline features, the age can be quite young.

Do I need a jogging stroller for the workout?

Jogging strollers are not required. As long as the stroller is sturdy, not prone to tipping and all children can be safely strapped into their seats for the duration of class, it will work just fine!

My baby doesn't like being in the stroller for too long, how will I get a good workout?

Babies are priority, so don't worry if your baby becomes fussy during class! Our classes are designed to keep the kids moving and engaged by incorporating songs and various props to keep them entertained. With that said, if you need to change, nurse or console your baby, please do so (remember, you are in good company). Kids will have good and bad days and we understand that. The kiddos learn the new routine of "Mommy's hour" and learn a few things during our workout too!

How old does my baby need to be to start classes?

Babies and kids can join you at Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre up to any age as long as they can still safely be buckled in the stroller. We recommend waiting until you have medical clearance from your physician (normally this is 6-8 weeks postpartum). Always obtain your doctor's permission before starting this or any other kind of exercise program.

What do I do if my baby gets fussy during class?

That's okay! Sometimes babies cry. You will be in a group full of moms with their kids - we've all been there and we all get it. You're always able to do what you need to do to take care of your little one and, of course, we try to keep things moving so that the kids are happy and entertained.

What if I need to feed my baby during class?

We’ve got you, Mama! If you need to change, nurse or console your baby, please do so. Your instructor will make sure to provide you with comfort and discretion during class.

Can my older children walk along or ride their bike during class?

Safety is our first priority, so we do not allow kids to be out of the stroller during class, regardless of age.

Body Well/Body Boost

Can I bring kids to Body Well/Body Boost?

Our Body Boost workouts and Body Well program are designed for moms only. Unlike Stroller Strides or Stroller Barre there is no child engagement built into class. That said, you are welcome to bring your kiddo in a stroller to any Boost classes that are held in large outdoor venues like Stanton Park. (N.B. There is not sufficient space to accommodate strollers in classes held at The Lane.) If you have questions about whether or not a class venue is stroller-friendly, email Laura at LauraOleary@fit4mom.com. Children attending class must remain in their stroller for the entire class. Because our Body Boost classes are HIIT focused, baby wearing is not recommended.

Can I do Body Well/Body Boost if I am pregnant?

Body Well: The Body Well session is not intended for the prenatal mom. The focus of the program is helping postpartum moms (6 months+ and beyond) bring self care back into their lives.

Body Boost: The Body Boost drop-in workouts are high-intensity, interval training workouts. They are only recommended for the prenatal mom if she has been cleared by her doctor to participate in high-intensity workouts during her pregnancy and she was participating in high-intensity workouts prior to pregnancy.

What do I need to bring to class?

What is the workout like?

Combining cardio, strength, core, and meditation, Body Boost is the perfect workout for mom’s mental and physical health. Body Boost is a 60-minute results-based, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class designed to challenge, empower, and energize, leaving Mom feeling refreshed and recharged for motherhood and all that comes with it.

Do I need to be in great shape to participate in class?

No. We have all fitness levels in our classes! We will ask you to push outside your personal comfort

What makes Body Boost and the Fit4Mom Programs different from the gym?

Body Boost is so much more than just another HIIT workout! We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships. Through education, we help you create a healthier home and more active lifestyle for your family. We believe you should be empowered and encouraged to push past your perceived limits and find inner strength while building physical strength. We strive to build you up and put you first to create your BEST YOU.

Do I need to Pre-Register or can I just show up?

Body Well: Pre-registration is required for Body Well sessions.

Body Boost drop-in classes: Please pre-register so your instructor knows to expect you and can contact you if there are any changes to the class. We have limited spots in our Body Boost classes and also require a minimum enrollment.


Can I bring kids to FIT4BABY?

No. This class is for women 18 and up without children present.

What do I need to bring to class?

A yoga mat or towel for the abs portion and cool down. A resistance band (we will provide one for you on your first day of class), plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat. You WILL sweat!

What is the workout like?

The 60-minute workout includes cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility training. We end every class with a relaxing meditation.

Do I need to be in great shape to participate in class?

No. We have all fitness levels and all stages of pregnancy in our classes. All exercises are carefully selected to prepare your body for the many changes you will experience and follow the most up-to-date ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) guidelines.

What makes FIT4BABY and the FIT4MOM programs different from the gym?

FIT4BABY is a comprehensive program designed specifically for moms-to-be. You will find it’s so much more than just a workout! We are a community of moms where you will find support, encouragement, camaraderie and lifelong friendships.

Run Club

What if I have not run since before I had my baby or if I have never run at all?

Our Run Club coaches will lead you to your first mile! Whether it is your first mile ever, or your first mile post-baby, Run Club is appropriate for all levels.

Can I bring my child with me to run club?

Run Club is stroller friendly. Any child that joins you for Run Club should be safely secured in a stroller. Check with your local FIT4MOM franchise to see if the running location is stroller friendly.

What should I bring to run club?

Running shoes and water are essential. A yoga mat or towel would be helpful for the final stretch.

As moms, we understand that life is about finding balance while nurturing our minds, bodies and spirits. Our FIT4MOM Our Village Events and Playgroups was created with this aspiration in mind. What if I need to cancel my membership?

A 30-day notice is required to cancel your membership. A copy of the policies can be found on the website.

Our Membership

What does my Membership include?

Your Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre membership includes unlimited stroller classes at any of the FIT4MOM DC locations. Your Premier Access Membership includes unlimited Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, Fit4Baby and/or Body Back Boost classes at any of the FIT4MOM DC locations.

Membership also includes being a member in our private Facebook group, weekly playgroups, monthly Moms’ Night Outs and more!

Can I bring family or friends who are visiting to class with me?

Visitors are welcome to come to class FREE of charge! If you have an extended-stay guest who will participate longer than one week, they will be subject to a $10 per class charge. All visitors must sign our waiver in order to participate.

How do I place my membership on hold or cancel it?

Email lauraoleary@fit4mom.com to change the status of your membership. All requests need to be received in writing 15 business days before the next payment is due. Memberships will be placed on hold for the maximum of four (4) months.

When can I place my membership on hold or cancel it?

Holds can start any day of your billing cycle. Our system auto-prorates your membership upon release of your hold. There are no refunds on dues once payment has been paid. To avoid payment, all requests need to be received in writing 15 business days before the next payment is due.

How do I change my return date on my hold?

You can return from your hold on any day of the month. You need to email lauraoleary@fit4mom.com at least 24 hrs prior to your return. If you attend class without letting lauraoleary@fit4mom.com know, you will automatically be charged the hold attendance rate with the credit card on file.

  • $10 for Stroller Strides/Barre
  • $10 for Body Back Workout

What is the fee to place a membership on hold?

For all memberships: There is a $10 fee to place your membership on hold. Memberships can be placed on hold for up to four (4) months.

Can I attend classes when my membership is on hold?

For Stroller Strides memberships: When your membership is on hold you can attend classes at the drop-in rate of $10/class.

For Body Back memberships: When your membership is on hold you can attend classes at the drop-in rate of $10/class. Your credit card on file will be charged automatically.

What is the enrollment fee for a membership?

For Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre memberships:

  • There is a $50 enrollment fee for all new monthly memberships. If you sign up for membership on the first day of class we will waive the enrollment fee.

  • Stroller Strides members who transfer to us from another franchise outside will not be charged an enrollment fee.

For Premier Access memberships:

  • There is a $50 enrollment fee for all new monthly memberships.

  • If you sign up for membership on the first day of class we will waive the enrollment fee..

How do I update my credit card on file?

To update your credit card on file:

  • Log into your Pike13 account

  • Below your profile photo you will see a list of options

  • Click on "Payment Methods"

  • Update the information

  • Click “Save”

  • Be sure to delete the old credit card on file

If your monthly dues payment fails and you do not respond to our emails to update your credit card info, your membership will be cancelled.

Who do I contact with questions about my membership?

If you ever have any questions on your membership, you can email lauraoleary@fit4mom.com.

Is my membership transferable to another franchise location?

No. Memberships are only valid for the franchise where they were purchased. If you move to an area outside of our franchise, you will need to cancel your current membership and sign up for a membership at the new franchise. We encourage you to contact the franchisee where you are moving to and let them know you have a current FIT4MOM membership at another franchise.
