I've been involved in athletics since age five when I first strapped on a pair of dancing slippers. My fitness journey began in 2005 in Atlanta, GA when I fell in love with lifting weights, functional fitness and Bikram Yoga. I continued this passion with a degree in Health & Physical Education. I still utilize the functional approach to fitness and wellness and my number one priority is safety. I emphasize form and mechanics, drill consistency and then add intensity. Based on my knowledge and years of practice, I was able to stay active my whole pregnancy. When I read about Stroller Strides, I fell in love with the idea of bringing my little one to exercise with me. But, I was nervous about joining a group of strangers and postponed my first class. As time went by, postpartum depression started to creep in. I knew I needed to find my tribe - other mamas who lived my world - and I knew I needed to move my body to be strong for my son, Luca. Everybody needs a little support and a spirited community to cheer them on. I found my tribe, and, as a FIT4MOM instructor, I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and helping mamas realize what their bodies are capable of.
