Instructor Spotlight: Tara Barlia
FIT4MOM DC
Meet Tara — mom to little Jordyn, former gymnast, and Stroller Strides instructor extraordinaire! If you’ve joined us for a morning class with your kiddo in tow, chances are you’ve already felt Tara’s energy and encouragement. She brings a perfect mix of structure (hello, gymnastics background!) and joy to every workout.
Tara has always had movement in her life — she was a competitive gymnast through college — and becoming a mom didn’t change that. In fact, she says staying active became even more important once Jordyn was born. When she found FIT4MOM DC, it was the perfect combo of fitness, connection, and baby-friendly vibes. Teaching felt like a natural (and fun!) next step.
💬 What to Expect in Tara’s Class?
“A great workout, time with other amazing moms, and zero judgment if you need to stop for a snack break or diaper change. I want moms to feel strong, seen, and supported — and to leave class feeling like they did something great for themselves.”
You’ll find Tara leading Stroller Strides all over NW DC this summer with a sharp eye on form and a whole lot of encouragement. Expect laughter, lunges, and maybe a little baby giggle chorus in the background.
Fun Fact: Tara has a 2019 Washington Nationals World Series ring — and yes, she earned it! Join Tara for Stroller Strides in Tenleytown on Mondays and Wednesdays and at the EDCJCC in Dupont on Fridays at 10:10am to get the whole story.
