Shikha is originally from Bangalore, India and now lives in Brentwood with her husband Kunal and our baby girl Kiara.
"I’m a special education teacher by profession, and when I’m not in the classroom or chasing Kiara, I love cooking and exploring new restaurants and cuisines with my husband."
💪 How did you find FIT4MOM DC?
Totally by chance! I found FIT4MOM DC through a random Google search while looking for prenatal yoga classes. I called the number, spoke with Kelly — and was sold.
🏋️♀️ What’s kept you coming back to FIT4MOM DC?
"Definitely the community. Every single person from the instructors to the other moms has been so wonderful. I’ve felt empowered working out alongside such incredible women, and never judged, even at my lowest fitness levels."
Of course, we couldn't get her to commit to one favorite class. Shikha says "It’s a tie between Stroller Strides with Olivia and Strides 360 with Niki." Honestly, we couldn't pick a just one favorite either.

Speaking of favorites ... The simple pleasures top Shikha's list of favorite things: cooking and eating. Indian comfort food dominated her prenatal menu but now that baby Kiara is on the outside she's spending more time in the kitchen and - at the request of her fan club - she's sharing her favorite culinary adventures @shikscooksinstead. 😋
Shikha’s story is such a great reminder that motherhood isn’t meant to be done alone. From that first phone call to now having a whole community cheering her on, she’s found more than just workouts at FIT4MOM DC. She’s found connection, encouragement, and friendship. This whole motherhood thing feels so much better when you’ve got your mom friends by your side.
